Iohannis 14 inquitFilius dei
᾿Ἐάν τις ἀγαπᾷ με, τὸν λόγον μουτηρήσει, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ἀγαπήσειαὐτόν, καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλευσόμεθακαὶ μονὴν παρ’ αὐτῷ ποιήσομεν.
Hanc dulcissimam promissionem semperin mente nobiscum circumferamus, &saepe cogitemus, qua primum praecipinobis sciamus, ut discamus hanc ipsamde Deo doctrinam per prophetas, Christum& Apostolos traditam. Deinde promitti,hos dei domicilium & vera Ecclesiæmembra esse, qui legent, audient,discent, amabunt, & propagarestudebunt hanc doctrinam. Hi exaudientur,gubernabuntur, adiuvabuntur, &servabuntur a Deo. His tantispromissionibus confirmati huius doctrinæstudia colamus, & non sinamuseam deleri.

וַאֲנׅי זׄאת בְּרׅיתׅי אוׄתׇםאׇמַר יְהוָה רוּחׅי אֲשֶׁר עָלֶיךָוּדְבָרַי אֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתּׅי בְּפׅיךָלֺא יָמוּשׁוּ מִפִּיךָ וּמִפִּי זַרְעֲךָוּמִפִּי זֶרַע זַרְעֲךָ אׇמַר יְהוָהמֵעַתׇּה וְעַד עוֹלָם׃
αὕτη αὐτοῖς ἡ παρ᾽ ἐμοῦ διαθήκη, εἶπε κύριος·τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἐμόν, ὅἐστιν ἐπὶ σοί, καὶ τὰ ῥήματα,ἃ ἔδωκα εἰς τὸ στόμα σου,οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπη ἐκ τοῦ στόματόςσου καὶ ἐκ τοῦ στόματοςτοῦ σπέρματός σοῦ, εἶπε κύριοςἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
Suauissima promissio de Ecclesia, continensdoctrinam & consolationem dulcissimam. Docet enimet quæ sit Ecclesia, et ubi sit videlicet ubisonat vox Evangelij divinitus patefacta, quavoce spiritus sanctus est efficax in cordibusut semper sit aliquis coetus credens Evangelioet confessione sua propagans doctrinam.Et addit consolationem, quod Deus velit seruareEcclesiam ad omnem posteritatem contra omnesfurores satanæ & mundi, etiam in confusionibuset ruinis imperiorum postremi temporis. Quaresciamus et nunc deum servaturum esse Ecclesiasin quibus sonat vox Euangelij ad posteritatem etdefensurum, ne deleatur doctrina coelestis.

Ergo iam non estis hospites & adǔenæ, sed estisciǔes sanctorǔm, & domestici dei, sǔperædificati sǔperfǔndamentǔm Apostolorǔm & prophetarǔm, ipso summoangǔlari lapide Christo Iesǔ, in qǔo omnis aedificatioconstrǔcta, crescit in templǔm sanctǔm in domino.
Egregia sententia, qǔæ primǔm monet,qǔid sit Ecclesia, ciǔitas nempe, domǔs seǔ templǔmdei, fǔndata sǔper Christo, & exstrǔcta scriptis prophetarǔm & Apostolorǔm, qǔibus nititǔr & consistitEcclesia. Eiǔs autem ciǔitatis & domǔs gǔbernator &paterfamilias, est deǔs, dominǔs coeli & terræ.
Necesse igitǔr est illam ciǔitatem esse sanctissimam & mǔnitissimam, qǔam DEVS ipse gǔbernat et pro ea excǔbat. Necesse est in ea ciǔitate& domo, in qǔa DEVS habitat, esse iǔstitiam, vitam& omnia coelestia bona, & illa omnia ciǔibus interse esse commǔnia. Datŭr autem ciǔitas ijs, qǔicredǔnt in Iesǔm Christǔm filiǔm dei, iǔxta illǔdDedit ijs potestatem filios dei fieri, his qǔi credǔntin nomine eiǔs [etc.] Beatos vero ciǔes, qǔiin hac ciǔitate florentissima, sǔb deo gǔbernatore &defensore, non in cadǔcis & mox interitǔris bonis,sed in coelestibus & aeternis sedent, [etc.]

ὀλίγος ἐστὶν ὁ τῆς ζωῆς ἡμῶν χρόνος, βραχύ τὸ τῆς σωτηρίαςἐφόδιον. ἂν οὖν αὐτὸν τὸν βραχὺν χρόνον, τὸν δοθέντα ἡμῖνπρὸς τὸ μαθεῖν τι τῶν χρησίμων, εἰς περιττὰς καὶ ἀνονήτουςκαὶ βλαβερὰς ἀναλώσωμεν ἀκροάσεις, πότε λοιπὸνεὐπορήσομεν ἑτέρου πρὸς τὸ μαθεῖν τὰ ἀναγκαῖακαὶ κατεπείγοντα;
